Caitlin James
Application Specialist
Hailing from the Lone Star State, Caitlin has spent 12 years working in Higher Education. While serving on campus as an admissions counselor at her alma mater, The University of Texas at Austin, Caitlin completed a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from Sam Houston State University, with an Academic Advising certificate. Knowing she wanted a new challenge in admissions, she moved back to Fort Worth, to serve as a regional admissions counselor for Oklahoma State University covering North Texas and California.
It was her experience and friendship with colleagues in the Regional Admissions Counselors of California (RACC) that made an unrealized dream of moving to California possible to serve as the Regional Recruitment Manager for The Ohio State University.
Caitlin knows what it’s like to take a leap of faith, to try something new, and how to lean on your support networks for help – characteristics that can be very helpful for students going to college. She lives by the mantra, be who you needed, and it drives her passion for this work. In her free time, she volunteers with the Junior League of San Diego, loves traveling, doing yoga, watching college football, and trying all the best restaurants San Diego Magazine recommends.
