Many students and parents underestimate the time and attention required to be successful in the college admissions process. At Colledge, we offer all-inclusive comprehensive packages so students can meet with us more often, gain valuable insights into admissions decisions, and stay ahead of the curve with all deadlines.
As a result, in 2016 95% of our seniors were accepted to at least one of their top three colleges.
Our goal is to help each student find the best-fit colleges and to guide them with smart, college-oriented choices throughout high school.
But even when they come to us early in senior year, it’s not too late! We can help students make better choices that lead to successful outcomes. When Peter and Charlie came to us in the summer before senior year, we got right to work and it paid off – they were accepted at their top choice schools, UC Berkeley and MIT.
Peter was a last-minute client and a last-minute kind of guy. His parents were concerned that he wasn’t spending enough time on his essays. He had great ideas, but simply wasn’t making the time for writing. Peter knew he needed the structure and expertise we provide and he dove right into the process. James, our essay specialist, worked closely with Peter on his Common Application essay, supplemental essays, and University of California essays. James guided Peter as he wrote and rewrote each of his essays.
I helped Peter narrow down options for his ideal college list by providing specific research on Economics programs within each school he was considering.
Providing Peter immediate feedback on each draft of his essays and then just enough space to integrate some of our comments and suggestions gave him the structure to meet all of his deadlines.
Michael was admitted to an impressive number of colleges, including Colgate, NYU, Villanova, Bucknell and UC Berkeley. He was thrilled with all of his options and will be attending UC Berkeley this fall.
Charlie also came to us right before senior year and was already a very strong student. He had near perfect SAT and Subject Test scores, almost all A’s in AP and honors courses, and some unique extracurricular activities. He needed help with all of his essay work and deciding which colleges would be most ideal to major in Applied Mathematics. With a student like this, perfect grades and scores was not enough – he needed strategic guidance – especially with his essays, letters of recommendation, and college list.
In early brainstorming sessions, we coached Charlie on all of his ideas, and he wrote his heart out. He shared his whole self with admissions officers. He wrote about fencing and his love for math and physics. He wrote about his fondness for his peers at school, and he wrote about being an immigrant from Asia and what it means to be American.
We strategically guided Charlie to apply to his top choice school under early action and he was accepted in early December. Needless to say, Charlie was speechless when he heard the good news and will attend MIT this fall.
At Colledge, our team approach is our signature. Our teams meet regularly to discuss our student’s admissions strategy. I worked with Peter and Charlie on early admission strategies, Arman prepped them for college interviews and guided them with on additional letters of recommendation, and James worked diligently with them, providing feedback on essays. Our team approach ensured Peter and Charlie were successful, even in the critical last moments before submitting applications.
With first-hand knowledge of admissions practices we understand what makes a student stand out and how decisions are really made.
