Parents often ask me about our process — which aspects of college planning we focus on, how our methods differ from others, and what kinds of students do well with us. Because of our team approach, we are able to support a wide range of students. Consider Connor and Gavin, for example.
Connor couldn’t decide between Architecture and Engineering. Gavin, a jazz drummer, wanted a nurturing, rigorous music program. Both knew who they were but needed help translating their passions into college success. With both young men — as with the rest of our unique and wonderful students — we helped them figure out how to turn their talents and passions into great college opportunities.
All students possess inherent qualities and strengths. Many high school students do not recognize these special traits, and those who do often need guidance on how to effectively present their unique qualities to colleges.
With this in mind, our Colledge team provides every client with a robust strategy to reach their goals. With expertise in college admissions, essay coaching, teaching, and personality assessments, they share a knack for helping students think about developing their interests and curiosities in a deeper way so they can meet their college goals.
One of our team members, Arman, helped Gavin find a handful of jazz studies programs with faculty that would both encourage and challenge his drumming. As a result, Gavin chose to attend Cal State Long Beach instead of Berkelee College of Music, and is thrilled to have found a program that offers him everything he wanted.
Arman’s colleague, Lee Ann, coached Connor with writing assignments that captured his jubilance about Chemistry labs and his fascination with computers as well as his interest in architecture down the line. Connor wrote with great confidence, and will attend USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering as a President’s scholar.
Arman, Lee Ann and our other team members are in tune with student needs and family dynamics and relish the chance to usher students through the college admissions process. Click HERE to learn more about all of them.
Having worked in a variety of admissions offices, our team of consultants knows what colleges are really looking for. They have a strong sense of what can make a difference and why. We can reveal the truth behind how admissions decisions are really made, so parents and students can focus on what matters and let go of the things that don’t.
During regular team meetings, we work together to develop a strategic approach with each student and their family — with college choices, personal essay guidance, test planning, and extracurricular activities.
